We had a pretty decent weekend. I took Friday off work, and we were able to lounge around lazily on Friday morning. Around noon we left to pick up my brother, and we headed off to Kenora for the weekend. We met my parents at the Best Western Lakeside Hotel, and had supper at their restaurant that overlooks the Lake of the Woods. It was quite beautiful at sunset, and the food was great. We then all piled into one hotel room to watch "Shrek 2".
Saturday was spent touring the area. We have a few friends with cabins in the area, so we visited them. We also drove out to Rushing River, which was gorgeous, and very serene. When we returned, we went out to the harbour to board the MS Kenora for supper. It was lovely to be on the lake at sunset, and the lights on the water from the cabins at night was fantastic. We had a great time. The rest of evening was spent in a rousing game of Risk. I think the last battle between my mom and Matthew ended sometime after midnight.
Sunday was a dreary day. Ryan, my dad and Matthew drove out to see the burned down Minaki lodge, while my mom and I did some shopping at the Blue Heron.
Now we are just counting down the days (just one more sleep) until Steve, Ang and Emily are out. We leave on Thursday evening for Fargo, and then Fair Hills for the weekend.
