Action Packed Plett Life

So we thought we had finally seen the last of the rain, but we were mistaken. It seems as though it has rained almost every day for the last few weeks. We have been given a glimmer of hope by a few warm days in between. However, just when we think it may have dried up enough to mow, or spray for weeds, it rains again. Unfortunately, this is not only affecting us, but the farmers as well. Many of the local farmers have acres of unseeded land, and many of them also have land that needs to be re-seeded because the rain has washed the seed away. Puddles of sitting water are also perfect for mosquitos, and it looks like they will be abundant this year if we don't spray. Hopefully we will see some summer weather before it is too late.

On Thursday our new basement furniture was delivered to our house, which I was really excited about. This however also turned in to somewhat of a tragedy. We never took into any consideration the fact that the furniture would have to fit down our stairway into the basement - we just assumed we would be able to get it down someway or another. Well, the couch just absolutely would not go down. It was too long. We were told later on that this 91" couch was particularly long. So we are again shopping furniture, but we are disappointed to still have an incomplete basement with no furniture. Hopefully we will find something so wonderful that we will be thankful that the other stuff didn't work out.
